Destination PA!When you think Craft Beer States - Most will automatically think Colorado, California, Washington and Oregon. Well, Think again. Pennsylvania now has climbed up the rankings and many craft breweries are producing award winning beers that compete among the best around. From Pittsburg to Philadelphia, there are dozens of PA breweries worth mentioning. Let us focus on a few that would rate well among the famous West Coast Giants.
Yards Brewing Company, Established in 1994. This small operation started out in a garage and within years increased in size and fame. Beers such as their India Pale Ale, Brawler and Philadelphia Pale Ale started the road to success. Followed by some new favorites in 2003 Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale and George Washington’s Tavern Porter. Located in the infamous Northern Liberties area of Philadelphia sits their newest and largest Brewery with a tasting room with seating for 100+ and a 12 tap system. Tours are available during the weekend from 12-4pm, make sure you sample their Extra Special Ale, A 2010 World Beer Cup Bronze winner.
